Inspired by a photograph taken by Maggie Hopp of a market scene circa 1970 in Portsmouth, Dominica. This was created in 1997 and became a popular sketch that was turned into a postcard still sold on island. I later learned the composition was used to inspire works created by a Cuban artist, also sold in local gift shops. The sketch is published as teh inside cover illustration in “The Gardens of Dominica” Published by Papillote Press.
